.

WILHITE PAINTING SOLUTIONS, LLC

OUR FOCUS ON EVERY PROJECT: (In order of importance)

1.) SURFACE PREPARATION.

2.) APPLYING THE HIGHEST QUALITY MATERIALS IN THE PAINTING INDUSTRY.

3.) UTILIZING THE APPROPRIATE METHOD OF APPLICATION ON EACH INDIVIDUAL PROJECT.

PROCEDURE FOR EXTERIOR RESIDENTIAL PAINTING PROJECT:

Column

  • Pressure-Washing:

  • (wood, aluminum, vinyl,concrete,brick)

A.) Utilize chemicals to increase the effectiveness of surface preparation (if appropriate and/or necessary)
B.) Utilize different water pressures for various substrates i.e. highest water pressure for aluminum/steel, moderate to high pressure for concrete-brick-vinyl and lower pressure for wood, etc.
c.) Clean surfaces keeping pressurized water at a 90 degree angle as best as possible depending on environmental conditions i.e. trees, bushes etc. too close to substrate.

  • Manual Surface Preparation for Wood Surfaces:

A.) Hand scrape wood surfaces with various different hand tools after surfaces have had appropriate time to dry after pressure-washing.
B.) Utilize various power tools (if appropriate) i.e. palm sanders, orbital sanders etc.
C.) Upon completion of scraping/sanding all surfaces to be dusted off prior to priming bare wood.

  • Application of Appropriate Primer:

  • (depending on substrate)

A.) Utilize the highest quality primer available for each substrate that is to be painted according to contract.
B.) Upon completion of primer application substrate is left to dry according to manufacturers specifications.

  • Caulking:

A.) Utilize appropriate caulking according to substrate to be painted i.e. siliconized acrylic caulking around window/door frames, elastomeric caulking in expansion joints on concrete, etc.
B.) Upon completion of caulking; caulk to be left to dry according to manufacturers specifications.

  • Protection of Surfaces not to be Painted:

A.) Utilize the best methods and masking supplies available to completely protect any areas not to be painted prior to applying the finish coat on substrate to be painted.

  • Application of Appropriate Finish Coat:

  •  (Spray Method depending on substrate)

A.) Utilize the highest quality products available for each substrate that is to be painted according to contract.
B.) Method of application- Skilled professional(s) using spray equipment i.e. airless, HVLP, air-assisted spray equipment to apply material to substrates; typically on body of house (siding) shutters, front door, gutters, soffits, etc.
C.) Upon completion of finish coat application; remove any masking when appropriate.

  • Application of Appropriate Finish Coat:

  • (Brush & Roll Method depending on substrate)

A.) Utilize the highest quality products available for each substrate that is to be painted according to contract.
B.) Method of application- Skilled professional(s) using paint brushes and/or rollers to apply material to substrates; typically on trim and touch up if necessary.

Note:

A.) Trees, bushes, plants should be trimmed back approximately 3 feet away from substrates to be prepped and painted; prior to contractor arriving to pressure-wash, if possible.

B.) All windows should be closed prior to contractor arriving to pressure-wash.

C.) All vehicles that are parked outside should be moved away from house at a safe distance to avoid any debris/dirt from pressure-washing and over-spray from painting.
